New Subaru WRX 2024 AWD Engine, Redesign, Review

New Subaru WRX 2024 AWD Engine, Redesign, ReviewThe Subaru WRX 2024 is a good automobile with clear advantages and disadvantages. It has outstanding handling and a potent turbocharged engine, making it handy and exciting to drive. All-wheel drive is standard on the WRX, which many other tiny cars lack. The front seats are comfortable, and the infotainment system is simple. The WRX, on the other hand, is lacking in some key areas. The interiors of several competitors are more luxurious, and their trunks are larger. Furthermore, the WRX gets poorer gas mileage than almost all of its competitors in its class.

The WRX 2024 will be extensively overhauled. Subaru equips the new WRX with a larger turbo-four engine (a 2.4-liter vs. a 2.0-liter in the 2021 model), but torque remains unchanged, and the 2024 model only produces three more horsepower. A new infotainment system has two basic 7-inch touch screens, an 11.6-inch touch screen, and a bigger trunk.

The Redesign of the Subaru WRX 2024

The WRX isn’t as sporty as the STI, for which we have an independent review. For instance, it lacks the big, inefficient rear wing, giving it a more subtle appearance. There are even quad exhausts in the back and a practical hood scoop in the front. It isn’t as uninteresting as the Impreza sedan, though. The base model comes with 17-inch alloy spins, while the mid-and top-spec variants arrive with 17-inch reels. They glance sporty and allow for a slightly higher profile tire, unlike the WRX STI, which has a lick of rubber smeared right on the metal. It’s the perfect understated pairing for the gearhead trying to up his game with his loved ones.

The WRX is available in seven colors, all available as a no-cost option across the entire lineup. Some of the colors available are WR Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, Ice Silver Metallic, Lapis Blue Pearl, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Pure Red, and Crystal White Pearl. In our opinion, the WRX looks best in a vibrant color like Pure Red or WR Blue. It still looks excellent in white and gray if you’re examining for something a little more understated.

Interior

Although the Subaru WRX interior has been modified, the Subaru emblem remains. Inside, there’s a blacked-out trim with red stitching. The cabin’s beauty is enhanced even more by the carbon fiber patterns. Furthermore, the GT model includes special Recaro Performance Front Seats.

Aside from that, from Premium specification forward, the Subaru WRX’s heated performance front seats may be retained. The revised D-shaped leatherette steering wheel is comfortable to use. The 2024 model year WRX will have the same 12 cu ft freight capacity in cargo capacity.

Engine

The 2.4L Turbo Boxer engine in the 2024 Subaru WRX develops 271 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque at the wheels. This surge of power is channeled through a 6-speed manual transmission with AWD, which is available starting with the Premium model. On the other hand, the GT variant comes with a Subaru Performance Transmission that provides 30% faster upshifts and 50% faster downshifts. Thanks to a three-horsepower boost, the 2024 WRX maintains its title as a 0-60 MPH boost well within the 5-second zone. It’s feasible that the wheels will be propelled at a top speed of 144 MPH. The 12.4-inch front vented and 11.3-inch rear disc brakes are likely to stay the same, indicating a 160-foot braking distance restriction.

According to this comparison, the Subaru WRX boasts 43 horsepower than the Jetta GLI. As a result, the former boasts a 0.4-second 0-60 MPH sprint time and a 19-mile-per-hour top speed advantage. Meanwhile, the Kia Stinger makes 16 horsepower less than the Subaru WRX despite costing nearly $6,000 more. The power disparity between the Altima VC-T SR and the Subaru increases to 23 horsepower.

Subaru WRX Price and Release Date in 2024

The WRX has a starting price of $29,105. This is one of the most expensive entry charges in the tiny automobile sector. The top-of-the-line WRX GT starts at $41,895, making this Subaru more costly than its top-of-the-line competitors.
