Compared to the Hyundai Palisade or Kia Telluride, even a good-looking crossover will be assessed poorly, precisely what happens when the Ascent is compared to its competition. The Ascent SUV is beginning to show its age in such a company. It still looks nice with 18-inch wheels on the base and Premium models and 20-inch alloys on the Onyx, Limited, and Touring models. All Ascent versions come standard with steering-responsive LED lighting and taller roof rails. These three models also come with LED fog lights.

The Subaru Ascent has 18-inch and 20-inch wheels with all-season tires to handle the rugged terrain. The higher trims also come with a motorized liftgate in the back. Even the base model has a raised roof rail that runs the length of the belt, but only the touring trim gets the panoramic roof.

Interior

The 2024 Subaru Ascent’s interior was designed to be spacious and comfortable. In terms of interior trims and accents, the fabric seating in the base cabin is replaced by the stain-resistant cloth format and StarTex water-repellent upholstery in the Premium and Onyx Editions, respectively. Leather upholstery for the Limited and Touring models comes in Slate Black and Ivory Warm.

The Ascent’s three rows are supposed to be spacious, but it isn’t the best in its class. It can lead up to 8 passengers, with the two front rows taking up the majority of the capacity. Passengers in the first row enjoy 41.3 inches of headroom and 42.2 inches of legroom, while passengers in the second row have 40 and 38.6 inches of headroom and legroom, respectively. Even though the third row is officially meant to seat three people, with only 57.4 inches of shoulder room and 31.6 inches of legroom, it is only suitable for petite teenagers and children. The shoulder room in the middle becomes a concern for people with larger builds.

Engine

The 2.4L Turbo H-4 engine in the 2024 Subaru Ascent provides 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. This machine is mated to a LinearTronic CVT and a standard symmetrical AWD system. The X-Option mode on this AWD optimizes the engine output and transmission ratio. The Subaru Ascent is equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension system that keeps the wheels grounded no matter what the road conditions are. Active Torque Vectoring, which helps with quick cornering and stable steering, also includes these features.

The Ascent 2024 goes from 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds and covers a quarter-mile in 15.5 seconds. It can get a top speed of 130 miles per hour. On the other hand, it has 13.1-inch front, and 13-inch rear vented disc brakes that can bring it to a stop in 175 feet at 70 miles per hour. The driver can also use the Brake Override System to limit the accelerator pedal input and prevent abrupt acceleration. The ABS and brake assist also help to increase braking efficiency.

2024 Subaru Ascent price and release date.

The Ascent starting price for the base model is $32,955, which includes taxes, registration, and a $1,125 destination fee. The Premium model costs $34,795, the new Onyx Edition costs $37,995, and the Limited costs $39,595. The Touring model, which is the top of the line, costs $45,445. The Subaru Ascent is competitive in base trim with the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander, but both brands charge more for higher trim levels, making the Subaru an attractive option.
