2024 Subaru Outback Colors, Redesign, SpecsThe 2024 Subaru Outback is touted as a Subaru wagon that comes in various trims with various price points and powertrain options, ensuring that there is something for everyone. A new trim level has been added to the mix to provide even more off-road capability. The ordinary Outback is also a good off-roader, and it certainly lives up to its moniker with full-time AWD. The Subaru Outback is a popular vehicle in the United States. The base engine is a disappointment in an otherwise good vehicle. While Subaru has provided a turbocharged engine, it is only available on the top-end grades.

However, the Outback’s top-end specification, which starts at about $40,000, makes it an intriguing vehicle. It competes with the considerably more expensive Audi A4 Allroad and Volvo V60 Cross Country in terms of capability. Another thing that helps with this is a well-designed, comfortable, and spacious cabin. However, there is no meaningful competition for the price at which it is sold.

The headlights on the Outback are attractive with all their cuts and angles. The Subaru logo is sandwiched between the grille and the Subaru logo. Because of the higher ground clearance, the side is tall. The sharp taillights and the tough-looking and muscular body lines lend a robust appearance to the rear. Except for the Wilderness, the basic model and Premium come standard with 17-inch wheels, increasing to 18 inches from the Limited trim above. All models have steering-responsive LED headlights and LED fog lights for the new year. A hands-free power rear tailgate is standard on Limited models and higher, while a power moonroof is standard on Touring models, Limited XT, and Touring XT cars. Unique styling components can be found on some models. Crystal black silica-finish wing mirrors and black-finish alloy wheels are standard on the Onyx Edition XT we tested.

Because the Outback is an outdoor vehicle, it looks best in green, gray, and blue tones, with Autumn Green’s military appeal looking especially lovely. However, Subaru provides a few fascinating color options for the vehicle that complement its external style. Crystal White Pearl, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Abyss Blue Pearl, and Brilliant Bronze Metallic are the six colors available on the base model this year, the latter being unique to the base model. Higher trim levels unlock more colors, such as Crimson Red and Autumn Green metallics and Cinnamon Brown Pearl, although only the Wilderness has Geyser Blue as one of its six options.

Interior

High-quality materials are used frequently inside the 2024 Subaru Outback, and soft-touch materials are abundant, especially in higher models. Subaru has always prioritized providing an experimental setup, and the Outback is no exception. The dashboard design isn’t dull, but it’s also not “intriguing.” The middle of the screen is adorned with a large screen flanked by AC vents. Except for the base model, all higher trims include power-adjustable and heated front seats. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is also included. On the higher-end versions, heated and ventilated front seats with memory function and heated rear seats are available.

The materials are good quality, and the ride is pleasant, even off the beaten path. For those in the front seats, space is likewise not an issue. Most people should be OK in the back seat, which has plenty of legroom and headroom except for adults over six feet tall. The Outback has a load capacity of 32.5 cubic feet behind the second row, which is a pretty respectable figure. The rear 60/40 split seats can be folded to create 75.7 cubic feet of cargo space. Seatback pockets, door pockets, and other places to store small things are also found all over the cabin.

Engine

The Subaru Outback 2024 is available with two distinct powertrains. The base powerplant is a 2.5L flat-four-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. The next powerplant is a 2.4L turbocharged flat-4 with 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. This machine will also be featured in the all-new Wilderness trim level.

Both engines are connected to a continuously variable gearbox (CVT) (CVT). AWD is also standard on all model levels. The fundamental engine has the feeling of being underpowered. It takes 8.8 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour. The turbocharged flat-4 engine is faster than the standard engine, taking 5.8 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.

Price and Release Date of the Subaru Outback in 2024

The first turbocharged model, the Onyx Edition XT, retails for $35,145, and the off-road-oriented Wilderness retails for $36,995. The Limited XT and Touring XT are the last two trims in the lineup, priced at $37,995 and $39,945, respectively. These costs do not include a $1,125 destination charge (or $1,275 in Alaska).
