New 2025 Subaru Ascent 8 Passenger Redesign, Interior – Subaru has announced that its new 2025 Subaru Ascent 8 Passenger SUV will be available for purchase at a starting price of $35,000 and will arrive at showrooms this summer. This US-manufactured, 3-row family SUV boasts a 113.8-inch wheelbase, making it the largest vehicle ever produced by the Japanese carmaker. In addition, a resin-based intake manifold is utilized, with a smooth interior surface that facilitates the intake air flow, resulting in improved intake efficiency.

Features
While the 2025 Subaru Ascent 8 Passenger offers slightly more cargo space behind the third row and outperforms the Honda Pilot – a popular contender as our Midsize SUV Best Buy and one of the more spacious models in the segment – Subaru falls mid-pack in terms of overall passenger and cargo volume. However, we had the opportunity to sit in all three rows at the vehicle’s world premiere at the Los Angeles Car Show and found it to be sufficiently roomy. Having adequate space is more important than having the most space.
Exterior and Interior
As standard, the 2025 Subaru Ascent 8 Passenger SUV comes equipped with an 8-passenger capacity and a second-row bench seat. However, all trims except for the base offer an optional second-row captain’s chairs, which reduces the seating capacity to seven.
Nonetheless, this configuration is particularly useful for families who have or plan to have two child car-seats or boosters in the second row, as it allows for easier access to the third row. The interior of the vehicle boasts a generous 19 cup and bottle holders, as well as up to seven USB ports and a Smart Rear View Mirror.

The latter can perform as a standard rear-view mirror or display a vision from a rear-facing camera installed at the back of the 2025 Subaru Ascent 8 Passenger, offering a broader field of view in situations where the mirror’s view is obstructed by passengers or cargo.
The car’s seats are also heated both in the front and back, with the option to add lumbar support and extendable thigh support for larger individuals. For added comfort, the driver and front passenger seats can be ventilated. The heated steering wheel is also included as a standard feature.
Specification
All 2.0-liter engine naturally aspirated models of the car are equipped with a compact and lightweight 4-speed AT with SPORTSHIFT gear selection. By optimizing the final gear ratio, travel efficiency has been improved, and fuel economy enhanced, while also reducing the shift interval between ratio changes.
The turbocharger is a unique design for the 2025 Subaru Ascent 8 Passenger, with optimization of its A/compressor and R, as well as a turbine vane redesign, providing improved low-end torque and responsive acceleration. It is powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers an impressive fuel economy of 20 miles per gallon in the city, 26 miles per gallon on the highway, and a combined 22 miles per gallon.
