New Subaru Legacy 2025 Models, Engine, Redesign

New Subaru Legacy 2025 Models, Engine, Redesign – Despite being in only its fifth year of production, Subaru has deemed it appropriate to give the Legacy a complete redesign for the 2025 model year. Subaru’s approach to redesigns has always been relatively conservative and evolutionary, and this holds true for the Legacy.

Rather than reinventing the wheel, Subaru specializes in refining its successful models, and that is precisely what they are doing with the Subaru Legacy 2025. At first glance, it may be easy to overlook the changes made to the 2025 Legacy.

Features

However, upon closer inspection, one will notice a range of subtle yet significant updates. These include larger fenders, a revamped frameless hexagonal grille and lower air intake, new side-view mirrors, and a thicker C-pillar that flows into the trunk with greater flair. The model was named an IIHS Top Safety Pick, and there is no reason to expect anything less for the Subaru Legacy 2025, even though safety ratings for the 2025 model have not been released yet.

Exterior and Interior

The Subaru Legacy 2025 will be built on the Subaru Global Platform, which boasts a 70 percent increase in torsional rigidity due to the addition of 13 percent more high-strength steel and 371 percent more structural adhesive. The increased body rigidity will absorb 40 percent more frontal- and side-impact energy, making it safer for occupants.

Along with this stronger platform and body, the standard EyeSight Driver Assist Technology will include features such as automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and keep assist, and the new-for-2025 lane-centring assistance. The Subaru Legacy 2025 will also see a range of improvements on the interior.

The most significant change will likely be the available 11.6-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen with navigation. In the base model, the infotainment touchscreen will increase by half an inch to 7 inches and will feature a separate display for climate controls. Other features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth audio streaming, SiriusXM, in-vehicle Wi-Fi, and more.

The dashboard will feature more curves than before, updated air vents, a repositioned shifter, and more. While the interior won’t undergo a dramatic redesign, potential buyers will appreciate the increased comfort thanks to additional front armrest space, front and rear hip room, and rear legroom. Additionally, the updated sound-deadening materials and seals will reduce interior noise by 3 decibels.

Specification

Beneath the hood, the Subaru Legacy 2025 will continue to use its standard 2.5-liter boxer-four engine. However, its power output will increase to 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque, which is an improvement of 7 horsepower and 2 pound-feet.

The Legacy will retire its six-cylinder engine and instead equip the 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the Ascent SUV in the 2025 Legacy’s XT trim, as expected. This engine will produce 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque and propel the sedan to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds while returning 24 mpg city and 32 highways. Both engine options come with continuously variable transmissions.
